SOCIO-ECONOMIC FACTORS OF MIGRATION IN THE CHELYABINSK REGION

Abstract

Migration processes are one of the key factors influencing the socio-economic dynamics of regions. In particular, the migration situation in the Chelyabinsk Oblast in recent years shows significant changes that reflect the general trends of the region’s development. Population migration from the region is associated with a number of significant reasons, such as economic conditions, living standards, environmental problems and demographic changes. The analysis of data for the last five years allows us to identify regularities in population movement, as well as to assess the impact of various factors on migration growth. This study examines key migration indicators in the Chelyabinsk Oblast, including the difference between urban and rural populations, external and internal migrant flows, and the impact of socio-economic conditions. Special attention is paid to migration for economic reasons, including the search for better working conditions, as well as the impact of the environmental situation and infrastructural problems. The correlation and regression analysis reveals the degree of relationship between the level of migration and such factors as environmental costs, the volume of housing commissioning, investment and other indicators. The study emphasizes the need for a comprehensive approach to solving migration problems, which includes improving the economic and environmental situation in the region, developing social infrastructure and creating conditions for retaining the population, especially young people and qualified personnel.
