THEOLOGICAL REHABILITATION OF CONVICTED PERSONS FOR EXTREMIST AND TERRORIST CRIMES IN INSTITUTIONS OF THE PENAL SYSTEM OF KAZAKHSTAN
Abstract
The article highlights the actual problem of countering religious extremism in the penitentiary system of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Based on the analysis, the conceptual apparatus for considering this problem is presented. The author examines the characteristic features of the interaction of religious extremism and criminality in isolation. The legal aspects of regulating the theological rehabilitation of those convicted of extremist and terrorist crimes are also considered. Based on the conducted research, the author concludes that it is necessary to ensure a systematic approach to the theological rehabilitation of convicts and the involvement of civil society organizations in this process.
