THE FORMATION OF THE STADIAL APPROACH IN THE THEORY OF “CIVILIZATION” FROM L. G. MORGAN TO F. ENGELS
Abstract
The solution of the problem of the civilizational development of mankind is unthinkable without referring to the provisions of the founders of the theory of civilization. In a comparative analysis of the theories of L. G. Morgan and F. It was revealed by Engels that the main engine of the progressive movement in the fi rst case is the production of means of subsistence, in the second — the production of means of production. The universality of the theory of civilization F. It is impossible to imagine Engels without the reasoned, historically reliable theory of L. G. Morgan. This is only the fi rst approximation to reading and understanding the work of F. Engels’ “The Origin of the family, Private property and the state”. In the future, it is necessary to consider in more detail the role of the family and private property in the process of civilization formation. This article can be used in the course of studying the new discipline “Fundamentals of Russian statehood” introduced into the higher education system.
