Abstract

The peer-reviewed monograph presents materials for scientifi c discussion on a wide range of issues related to the actualization of culture in the space of language. The features of the verbal implementation of the binomial “us and them” in the communicative consciousness are studied on the example of formalized and non-formalized etiquette situations in Russian linguistic culture. Based on the three cultural dominants of the Russian world LABOR, HOME, LANGUAGE, a linguistic and cultural analysis of cultural values in the minds of native speakers of the Russian language is made. The tendencies of stereotyping and general and national-specifi c nominations of holidays, plants, ethnonyms, toponyms, godonyms, urbanonyms of Russian and Anglo-American cultures are analyzed. Using automated methods, the analysis of the conceptual spheres of Russian-language and English-language military poetry is carried out, verbalization and contextualization of the concepts are studied.
